With all the ruthless efficiency of a John West trawler, Southampton University has purged its new website of the much-beloved Dolphin logo. Although it also raises some catering-related quandaries as to how to replace the yet-more-beloved dolphin biscuits, I’m mainly concerned that it leaves our corporate image with no sense of porpoise.

I am tempted to treat that pun with the contempt with which it deserves
Dave told me about this re-brand at the weekend. I can’t believe they’re ditching the dolphin already! It’s hasn’t been enough years for the dolphin brand to get old and it’s just going to cause confusion (and expense) to replace it.
(And can I put in a piteous please – get rid of the SnapPreview, please? Or at least give a good argument for keeping it. It really knocks the usability and enjoyment out of surfing here. Pretty please?)
Badoom-tish!
A clever little play on words there my friend, drier than a sandpaper factory on Mars…
IIRC the UoS spent £80,000 (or thereabouts) on developing the dolphin logo. I wonder if they were charged a similar amount for someone to choose a font and decide that “University of” in allcaps above the word Southampton?
If so, I’m changing career – right now!
Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation
Anyway … nice blog to visit.
cheers, Prickliness.
